This piece is again inspired by my road trips through the southwest many years ago. This subject and beauty is something I have also found here in the mountains of North Carolina. Yet my memories of these places from the past have stuck with me through the years and I often reflect back on them with loving memories of picnics, hikes, and swimming holes on a hot summer day. Oil and cold wax is the perfect medium for me to express what these places looked like to me in my memory. Dreamy, colorful, and abstract.
